Entry #1. Learning about Blogs.

In the busy life I live, I've never had enough free time to spend reading blogs. Therefore I had a very limited knowledge of blogs.  After taking time to study the different types of blogs, I know hold a different view and appreciation for them. There are so many blogs that can appeal to many different people. In fact, there are blogs about almost everything. I found while researching blogs that popular blog topics include, Lifestyle, Popular trends, and Politics. Like many people my age, I spend the little downtime that I have on social media apps checking on what my friends are up to and liking funny animal videos. However, after researching blogs, I decided that instead of spending time liking pictures or videos, I should use the time reading more useful blogs.

While researching blogs, I decided to look to see if one of my favorite authors had a blog and discovered that she did. Katie Majors is an American who at the age of 18 decided to move to Uganda as a missionary. Katie's blog is about her daily struggles and triumphs as a mom of 13 adopted Ugandan daughters and son with her Husband. This blog is my favorite blog because it is so different from the other blogs I have read, This blog shares stories of a genuine woman who is so selfless and dedicated her life to loving and helping people in Uganda. As a missionary myself, I find Katie Majors truly inspirational.

I was not very fond of the TMZ Blog. After reading Katie Major's blog, I felt as though the TMZ blog had no benefit and is empty information. The TMZ blog is built off of essentially gossiping, putting down and exposing people's weaknesses and rarely uplifting individuals. This blog thrives off of celebrity mishaps imposes on their personal lives. Overall this Blog is not edifying and focuses on more negative events than positive ones.

In conclusion, I am very satisfied with learning more about blogs, In the process of discovering what blogs are all about, I found a blog that I will continue to read for inspiration and uplifting.

  1. Very interesting blog post on blogs! I can fully 100% agree with you on the TMZ blog. It interferes with these celebrities lives when they are normal people like us just trying to live their own normal life. Anyone can do their job.

  2. Great "set up" in this post to establish the context and invite the reader into the entry. Good start at discussing the pros/cons of 2 (should have been 3) blogs that you looked into.

  3. Your blog was easy to read, and I like how you have an example of an author you like.
