Entry #10. Final Blog Reflection.
I thoroughly enjoyed writing my own blogs because I felt as though I had a voice and the freedom to express myself and thoughts in a safe environment. I realized that I had many values and ideas that I wanted to share with my fellow classmates. I was also able to read the blogs of those classmates and be able to understand them and get to know them in a more personal way. By sharing my experiences and reading theirs I learned that I had way more in common with people than I would ever imagine.
At first, the most challenging thing for me while blogging was when we were assigned a "free-choice" blog instead of a pre-decided topic. I struggled with coming up with topics but then I read a classmates blog that was a little bit more personal, and I really related to her. It was really encouraging to know that I was not alone. I then wanted to help others in that way. I decided to be vulnerable and share personal stories in hopes that I could help others in the way my classmate did.
I am very thankful for this assignment because it has opened my eyes to those around me and made me understand that I need to be less self-centered because everyone has their own story to tell with the own experiences who have shaped who they are. I definitely think this assignment was very valuable and to those of you who will be starting this assignment, give it a chance, take it seriously and have fun. You never know what you can get out of this and if like me, will genuinely enjoy blogging.
I hope that I will continue to make time for blogging and I am actually considering starting my own blog outside of this assignment to share with family and friends. It has been such a pleasure.
Until next time signing off,
Raeanna Perez
