Entry # 9: LANY

 Music plays such a vitial role in our lives. It affects our emotions, moods and daily lives. If you love listening and discovering new music, this blog is for you. Last year I stummbled across a band called Lany. Lany is an American band from Los Angeles, California. The members of this band are lead singer Paul klein, drummer Jake Goss and guitarist Charles Leslie 'Les' Priest. Lany can be classified as many different genres such as Indie pop, Synth-Pop, Electropop with an R&B influence.   (Left to Right): Jake Goss, Paul Klein, Les Priest.  Lany is an acronym for 'Los Angeles New York' and the trio band started in 2014. The band has released two albums and their lasted 'Malibu Nights' was released on last month. 'Thru These Tears'  is  the second most popular song on their Malibu Nights album. Entry #8: Life is better with friends.

Having a best friend or someone you can always rely on is something truly precious. I am lucky enough to have known my best friend my whole life. For as long as I can remember my best friend Maddie and I have always been inseparable. A year before we were born, my uncle Stephen married her aunt Corrie so we are related but not by blood. When you have known someone so well for such a long time, you began to pick up on their quirks and mannerism. Because of this, Maddie and I are so similar it often times freaks people out when we say the same exact sentence at the same time. When we are together there is always laughter and joy. We love traveling and being adventurous.  Our frienship however is not always us being fun and crazy. Being best friends also means that when one of us is going through something hard,  that the other one is there with them. Entry #7: Organic or not organic...That is the question.

What does it truly mean for something to be labeled and sold as organic? According to Merriam-Webster , To be organic is "of, relating to, yielding, or involving the use of food produced with the use of feed or fertilizer of plant or animal origin without employment of chemically formulated fertilizers, growth  stimulants, antibiotics, or pesticides." As consumers how can we know for certain if we are buying foods that are truly organic?  When something is labeled 'organic' can we trust that that food item has not been modified with any chemicals or stimulants? CNBC's video "Is 'organic' really organic? Adeep dive into the dirt" , really made me question the integrity of being organic. While watching this video I was shocked to hear that the inspectors do not actually test the soil of the crops for every inspection.
